During week 25, avocado shipments to the U.S. market increased by 6% compared to week 24 and by 18% versus the same period last year, according to the latest analysis by Avobook.
Supply in the United States is led by Mexico, followed by Peru, California, and Colombia. Across the Atlantic, in Europe, avocado container arrivals exceeded one thousand, driven mainly by Peru. Prices showed different trends between Spain and the northern European ports.
In China, it was reported that supply was affected by intermittent shipments from Peru, although prices remained relatively stable.
Regarding prices in that market, the report indicates that while they held relatively steady, rising inventories have started to create pressure amid a demand that is expected to grow due to key events such as Father’s Day and the Fourth of July.
